A new episode of webinar series “Lunch at SocialRES” is announced! This time, we will discuss how climate bonds could be a solution to reach net-zero goals of local governments. Abundance, as a crowdfounding platform based in the UK and a partner of SocialRES project, will lead us into this topic.
Abundance has recently developed a new climate financial product that enables residents to invest in the decarbonisation of their region via their municipal government using a council climate bond. Climate bonds are among those solutions to reduce non-technological gaps that impede the widespread uptake of social innovation business and service models in the energy sector, representing a cornerstone of the SocialRES approach. This will be presented and discussed during the webinar, together with advice about the applicability in other markets of this solution.
This webinar is part of the SocialRES project, which is a research and innovation project funded by the European Union. Its aim is to foster energy democracy through social innovation and the active collaboration between cooperatives, aggregators of renewable energy and crowdfunding platforms.
